Hello.
I'm Talal
I'm a manager in PwC and an alumnus of the American University of Beirut (AUB). I'm a techy and a geek, but I also love to travel, run, and play padel!
HOBBIES & INTERESTS
Biking and
RunningAfter reaching a high of 98kg in 2015 I decided to change my lifestyle. I began exercising on a daily basis and drastically changed my eating habits.
In the following year, I set a goal to do something I would have found unimaginable two years prior, completing a marathon!
I genuinely believe that completing the 42.2km Beirut Marathon was my biggest accomplishment, as it was an assertion that I've changed for the better.
Two years later and during my first year with PwC, I completed the 21.1km Beirut Half Marathon.Another three years went by and I began intensely biking in 2021. After half a year of training, I biked 700km around the UAE in 7 days.
I'm now aiming to accomplish an even bigger milestone, that being the completion of a half iron-man triathlon!
Hiking and Travelling
As one gets older, they form a daily routine and become complacent. While it is diffcult for me to avoid drowning in a monotnous cycle that solely revoles around work, I try to break the routine by travelling.
In the summer of 2016 I decided to start travelling and set off to Vietnam for a 5 day hiking expedition in the jungles near Phong Nha.
The following year, I travelled to Peru and hiked the inka trail to reach Machu Picchu, and later hiked to the 5km peak of Rainbow Mountain.
In the summer of 2018, I travelled to Thaliand, Japan, and South Korea for 5 weeks, visiting 9 different cities.
In 2019 I travelled to Europe and visited Switzerland, Germany, and the Netherlands. During this trip, I was able to accomplish a life long dream of skydiving!
My most recent trip was to Iceland, where I drove around the ring road for 2 weeks and stopped at the many sites to see.
Tech.
EnthusiastI've always had a passion for technology ever since I was young. I, like many others was drawn in through the appeal of gaming. While this has negative connotations surronding it, particularly for a 25 year old, I can proudly say that it is a passion of mine as I've gone through my whole life gaming. It not only helped me connect with people, both online and in-person, but it was also a bridge to long-lasting friendships. It also doesn't hurt that I've become relatively more tech savvy.
In the winter of 2020, after transferring to PwC Abu Dhabi and settling down, I was finally able to build my own PC.
For those interested, my PC specs are:- Fractal Design Vector RS Blackout Case
- ASUS ROG Strix Z390-E
- GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER
- Intel Core i7-9700K
- NZXT Kraken Z Series Z63

Personal Development
I believe that going the extra mile and learning more than what is needed is incredibly important to grow as an individual. That is why during my junior year in AUB, I took classes in Japanese in an learning institute that spanned for a year. In my senior year I took upper level courses in finance, while self-studying and passing the CFA level I exam.
During my first year as a consultant, I was travlleing between Lebanon, Dubai, and Saudi Arabia, all the while studying for the CFA Level II exam, and subsequently passing it.
After transferring to PwC Abu Dhabi, I was nominated to become a "Digital Upskilling Champion" which required me to take continous self-taught courses in Microsoft excel, PowerBI, and Alteryx in order to become a mentor for people that struggle with these particular programs.
In the summer of 2021, I finally received my CFA Charterholder.
